Who Took Your Piece of Pie?

Are you one of many Americans who received a letter in the mail indicating that your insurance premiums will increase due to ObamaCare? If so, you will identify with the young couple in this Thanksgiving cartoon by my sister, Amie Kieffer. The cartoon shows a couple pouring over their increasing healthcare insurance premiums as they prepare Thanksgiving dinner.

Obama promised that his healthcare bill would make health insurance more affordable. He went so far as to name it the “Affordable Care Act.” Well, for millions of middle class Americans it’s more expensive and, if we don’t like it, the only “option” is to pay an egregious fine.

Barack and his wife Michelle have recruited celebrities including Lady Gaga and Katy Perry (who are so wealthy that they will never be impacted by the ACA one way or the other) to help promote ObamaCare as a boon for young Americans. Michelle is on record saying: “The truth is, in order to get things like universal healthcare and a revamped education system then someone is going to have to give up their piece of the pie so that someone else can have more.

That was inaccurate. We now know: ObamaCare steals from the middle class and makes them poorer. As the 2014 midterm elections draw near, it’s time for you to use your vote and voice to regain your freedom of choice, to choose your doctor and health insurance plan, that the Obama administration clandestinely seized.

Empower yourself to get involved in your local or national political scene this Thanksgiving. Brainstorm with your family members over cranberry sauce, wine and gravy. Surprise yourself with how many ideas you can come up with to make a difference for yourselves and your loved ones by getting involved. And from all of us at, HAPPY THANKSGIVING and Thank You for your readership in 2013!
