Obama’s Sights Set On Millennials

11, Jan

By Katie Kieffer

Cry me a river on cable TV, Mr. President. But do not set your sights on my generation’s natural right to self-defense.

Every generation of human beings has a natural right to self-defense. Reason tells us that we have a right to protect our private property and our first piece of private property is our body. Yet even more than my parents and grandparents—who certainly faced their own challenges—my Millennial peers face a historic threat to their right to self-defense. Continue reading

I Make Guns, So Sue Me

12, Oct

By Katie Kieffer

Gun manufactures—I’m talking to you Remington, Smith & Wesson and Winchester—it’s time to stand your ground against lingual bullies. It’s time to say, “So sue me.”

“The gun industry and gun sellers are the only business in America that is totally free of liability,” Hillary Clinton said last Monday. She wants to eliminate the so-called loophole of the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA), which helps shield gun manufacturers from frivolous lawsuits. Her end goal is to help shooting victims blame and sue gun makers for mass violence.

As you know, I’ve written many columns in defense of gun rights. However, given last week’s tragic shooting in a Louisiana movie theater, I will try reaching hearts and minds by presenting my facts in a more creative way. Continue reading

If Rihanna Open Carries Her Guns, So Can You

29, Jun

By Katie Kieffer

Black pop star Rihanna wins awards and makes millions for wearing guns in public while everyday black Americans risk losing their jobs if they dare to exercise their 2nd Amendment right.

Are you growing tired of seeing wealthy black Americans get by with things that cause middle class black Americans to lose their jobs or go to prison? Things like carrying firearms, flying the Confederate flag or doing drugs. Continue reading

Let Students Carry on Campus

09, Jun

By Katie Kieffer

Pepper spray, police and cardboard signs failed to prevent the June 5 Seattle Pacific University shooting. Let’s stop mass violence on college campuses by defending college students’ right to carry firearms on campus.

Tragically, this is the third column this year that I must write defending college students’ natural right to self-defense on campus. In the Seattle Pacific University shooting, four more American youths took unnecessary bullets in a gun free zone. Continue reading
